I wasn't convinced I was getting a lot more detail in my images using the k-3, looking through the images in this thread, I'm starting to get a sense of the increased resolution.

May I ask how close you are to that eagle and how you got that close. Nice pics.

Thank you! I was pretty close maybe 20 yards away on the ground. The area I go to on the Mississippi River has lots of Eagles year around and right now even more are migrating North up the River. Most will not let you get close at all before flushing but still I have lots of targets to practice with. This one for whatever reason let me get much closer although he was nervous of me by the time I got up to him. I was kind of hoping that he would take flight and I could get a close shot of him in flight but he took off behind the trees and didn't come out in the clear until he was pretty far away.

I have archery hunted for years and can get within kissing distance of most big game. Birds, especially birds of prey, are a whole different story however. Every once in awhile I get lucky but have also found the slower you move the better. And any fast movement will spook them. I'm still trying to figure out how to get closer to birds that sit above you and don't miss a thing on the ground. Patience, move slow and a lot of luck is about all I have come up with so far.

I do think it is there, Norm. The hard part for me, coming from the K5 and K5 II was figuring out how to process files in such a way that I brought out detail, but didn't get a bunch of artifacts. The K3 just doesn't take much sharpening before you start getting halos and jaggies. I suppose if I had had another camera sans AA filter it would have been easier, but I think I have figured it out some at this point.
