An afternoon out with the DA*300.

Hi Unkipunki - What a set of super pictures. The quality of these is convincing me that I should take the plunge and spend some hard earned cash and splash out on a DA*300 lens.

Thanks boxcam,

I run everything through Dxo optics 9.3 and when noise is an issue process with their 'Prime' NR engine. All were shot in TAV mode to keep the shutter speed up so noise does become an issue often, but not to difficult to sort out in PP. The lens/camera combo is a joy to use, but TBH I'm only just starting to shoot birds, bees etc having been mainly landscape oriented in the past. Here's one more pic from the setup.

Here is a shot I took with my K3 at a shrine in Tokyo recently, Kameido Tenjin, which is famous for its wisteria festival held every May.

You should enter that image in the K-3 photo contest! I'd nominate it!

Very cool, reminds me of a scene from the movie "Tron", heh heh. I find it amazing how you can create a sense of movement and still retain that killer sharpness. Great work!

And now a cute dog photo. DA*300, TAV, AFC, ISO 4500, f6.7, 1/750th (the dog was charging around and happened to hit this position momentarily, hence the TAV, high shutter speed and ISO)

Shot as lead photographer for Seattle Business Magazine Manufacturing Awards. It was a heck of an honor to be asked.
