The first outing with the K-3 on our local ospreys was distinctly OOF. Much better this time and two chicks poked their heads over the top of the nest while Mom was out circling.

Looks like like mama osprey had a bead directly on you in that last shot.

Chuck, she's figured me out. This morning, instead of circling many times, she just left the chicks and headed for the river for 15 minutes. When she returned she went over to a pine forest and waited for me to move far enough away, circled twice, and popped into the nest.
