My K3 arrived and so did the bad weather. Most disappointed.
Went out for some target practice with my 500mm sigma not expecting much in such terrible light.
The camera came up trumps.
1. Did not need to adjust AF for the lens
2. Under the conditions focusing rate was much higher
3. Smaller AF areas actually worked better for AF spot
4. Surprised that I got sharp photos at 200sec hand held with SR on
5. 800 ISO only had a small amount of noise in the dark areas.
6. Under the conditions I couldn't get many birds focused while flying. may have been using the wrong settings.
Photo 1. Fairywren. ISO 200. 200 sec. F5.6. spot AF. handheld
Photo 2. Cormorants. ISO 800. using program. AF all, hand held, SR off
Photo 3. Thornbill. ISO 800. set to F5.6. spot AF. hand held.
Although thornbill and Fairywren heavily cropped, original still has loads more detail.
Conclusion, if I can get good shots when the light is crap, this camera is a winner.
