Image looks fine to me?

If I'd wanted a close up picture of a man with some bottles behind him I would've walked 30 steps closer. Comparing 100% crops with no post production done is pointless and completely irrelevant to the real world. On my 27" monitor at 1080p this 1600px wide image is bigger than A4 and looks to me, perfectly fine (although not the greatest picture in the world).
Yea but note that despite the size, the resolution is quite low for an image that big. So that's why it looks ok for you. Now try to print that and things will be different.

No noise reductions. Some adjustments to exposure +.30, contrast +10 and Highlights and Lights +5, Shadows -5. Remove chromatic abberation and lens correction profile. K3 + DA*60-250, ISO 6400, 250mm, F4, 1/400sec

Oh, forgot you wanted indoors when searching. It was a consistent overcast post sunset night(sunset is 8pm, was 8:05) and was pretty dark similar to indoors.

Here's the 33mb RAW DNG file if you want it. http://www.filedropper.com/imgp3851

An Amazing ability to crop from RAW files. Here's the before.

Here's a 1280 x 800 pixel crop from the RAW of the above shot.

This was shot with a DA-L 55-300mm lens.

It did real good for me John. I'm still learning the focus system. Still working on getting a handle on how many points to use and were to bias them in the viewfinder. So far for the boats 9 points auto biased toward bottom center seemed to work best for me. During the small airshow I used 29 points auto in the center of the screen. That seemed to work real well. I have another regatta the 19th & 20th with the smaller Limited Hydros. I'm sure I'll refine things more that weekend. Overall out of around 3500 shots I'd say I have 85 to 90% keepers focus wise. I expect that to improve as I develop my technique with this camera.

K-3 and F 50/2.8 Not the best subject but the little bugger did a great job not moving while I got down low.
