Fantastic captures. Hopefully she was not considering or tempted to enjoy any near and available Pentaxian. How close were you able to get on this shot?

Cheers,

RM

It is cropped quite a bit. 500mm on a bridge. I was about 30 meters away but the route between was closer to 75.

I was with a guy shooting Canon and another shooting Nikon. They were both older than me, so the Pentaxian felt quite safe.

Cause as I always say when I take a group out on a portage trail.. "If we meet a bear, I don't have to be faster than the bear, I just have to be faster than one of you."

Agreed.

"It is always a bit disconcerting to to discover while hiking, the "evidence" (scat), of the brown bear, which upon quick study, also includes, "Bear Spray", noise makers and plaid shirt cloth. "Hmm, that's certainly odd", and natures cycle repeats itself."

Practice the above in your best Mutual of Omaha (Merlin Pumpkin/Stag Furry), Walter Disney or Marty Stoufer voice over. Results may vary.

Cheers,

RM

That lens is great.. unfortunately with two other great lenses the Sigma 70 macro, and Tamron 90 macro close to it's range, I'll probably never own one. Thats the problem with 3rd party lenses. The Pentax lineup is pretty well thought out... buying 3rd party options breaks up the planned continuity. The third parties just make great lenses. They don't care if they fit in the Pentax line up. Starting over with unlimited funds, I'd have the 77 and for macro the 100 macro. But owning the 70 macro and 90 macro, it's unlikely either of those things will happen.
