K-3 + DA*300. My dad fought in WWII and his dad in the Great War. I am here because of them and all who fought alongside them.

Early days with the K-3

I drowned my beloved K-30 and my family kicked in to get me a K-3 to replace it (with an extended warranty). What an astonishing camera! I took it out for a spin at the zoo a few days ago with the 55-300 WR (which survived the drowning episode).

One of a pair of black-crowned night herons that hang out at the zoo to take advantage of the easy hunting.

The baboon was behind a beaten-up plexiglass barrier, and the circular polarizer helped minimize the impact of it.

Yeah, I was going to identify it as a self-portrait to forestall any mistaken identities, but I forgot.

I especially like that first shot of yours -- lovely reflections and composition.
