Still getting used to this beast of a camera, but I am suddenly whisked away to my younger days of shooting night sports (albeit in black and white and fixed focal points when my eyes were better). I haven't been able to follow a subject and get a shot like this in a while. It's not even that great, but compared to what I was expecting, it is leaps and bounds ahead.

Alright, alright, I'll make my first contribution to this thread.

I got a K-3 around Black Friday (for $US620, body-only), and took it for a week's vacation in Mexico in December... If I get around to it, I'll post first impressions in another thread, but here are some of the better shots from my "first contact" with a full-on Pentax DSLR. (I'd been shooting with a K-01 prior to getting the K-3.) If you want to see more, the full set is right here (22 shots so far, probably about 30 by the time I'm done with the sorting and post-processing.)

Wow Buddy nice photos

Thanks! Here's a non-macro (SOOC, incidentally)... I sometimes wish I had the DA15 when shooting into the sun like this.

From my new K-3 and DA* 50-135, PP via LR 5.7. I am very happy with this combo, especially considering this F-16 was doing over 100 mph from right to left! Cropped quite a bit. I am impressed with the amount of detail retained.

One of my first K3 shots not taken as a crappy test shot. Taken with the DA 35 limited.

Nice colours and bokeh, Jonathan!

Is this the meaning of the "There's no rose without a thorn" idiom?
