60-250 at F4 and 1/500.
These shots were taken from the deck of a ferry boat which traffics between Helsinki and Tallinn. It was quite hard to shoot that day. It was a windy morning and the ship was moving at the speed of roughly 20 knots. To get a steady shooting position I had to half kneel and place the lens barrel on the railings, even then the gusts of wind tended to move the camera and lens. The other ship was moving at roughly the same speed. The second shot was considerably easier, because the wind was blowing from behind, so my body covered the camera. Zoom was very comfortable to use in that situation, because the distance between the ships was changing rapidly. By the looks on the faces of the passengers who dared to go to the open deck, I could clearly tell that they considered me crazy.

I like the color of the boat. Nice and sharp composition.

Thanks ! When the ship was launched the company explained the reasons for that livery colour. Composition was corrected by slightly cropping the original RAW file in post processing.

@ zzeitg , how good is Revuenon at wide apertures ? I mean sharpness, haloing, aberations, contrast.

Cross posted from Your Pet a Day

I'm going to flood the thread for a bit... all shots, K-3 and F-70-210

First Misty and Tia playing - or is it a fight to the death,we own a devil dog....
Norm, your dog reminds me if my fluffy white and black dog. Took a few photos of him this weekend playing with friends.

Also managed to see a Barred owl, but only had a 28mm prime on my camera, so only got this cropped shot of it.

Tried to get a nice sharp shot of our new foster dog for a while. Eventually broke out a flash, really makes a difference! Bounced off the ceiling, still learning how to do this well!

Had another shot turn out making him look like he was plotting something.

A few sample photos, F-70-210 and DA* 60-250 (yes even if you have a DA*60-250, there are times it comes off for a lowly f-70-210. You just have to know when.

Great captures and series.

Just out testing my Sigma 100-300 F4 and some wildife/action shots. Quite happy with the results so far. Now i just have to practice getting closer! This is the whole sequence of shots i took without throwing any out. Cant complain on the AF performance. Darn near 100% if you ask me. In flight focus point was front bird. All JPG straight out of camera.
