Just a jumping spider on the back porch, probably Sitticus fasciger, a female. Pentax-M 200mm F/4 plus reversed Pentax-A 50mm F/1.7, with a slight crop.

Neues Palais, Potsdam. K-3 with 1.20 and 18-135. Just simple JPG and "Green Mode".

Despite the light from the windows you can still see the wall and ceiling between the windows.

Some shots through a local bog and nature reserve. Rained a little but opened up nicely. I think I may have over sharpened a little in post.

DA 18-135mm

DA 35mm f2.8 Limited

A doggie getting up and over at an agility meet, already watching her master for where to go next. K3 with 50~135.

Seasonal yellow (since rape fields are so trendy this time of the year).

This is excellent one... Very ROTHKOesque! Check that group on Flickr if you do not know what I am talking about.

Thanks, but the K3 does all. Impossible to know what the dog will do, and also near impossible to hit the jump at the right moment, so pre-set framing on a tripod so the angle is good and the background is reasonable, pre-set exposure, pre-set the focus, set to high frame rate, then trigger with a cable release just as the dog approaches. Many throw-outs, and the posted image is a substantial crop, no more that one-quarter of the original. Had many failed shoots at agility meets before I landed on the described procedure. In particular, the focus would lock onto something in the background and could not shift to the dog quickly enough.
I like the posted image because of the apparent intensity of the dog.

Now here is a subject that will hold-the-pose while you frame & shoot. K3 & Sigma 17-70

Thank you for all the extra details. Your preparation paid off. And you got the shot and that is what counts. There will always be many discards with that approach but that is to be expected.
Here is one I got with my K-3 hand held using continuous shooting. The challenge was to get the muzzle flash when the gun was fired. And I got lucky!

I've seen so many massive coastal guns, starting with huge smooth-bore muzzle-loaders and including "disappearing" canon mounted on counter-leaver mechanisms. Don't think any of them was ever fired except in practice.
