Another taken with K3 and Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 HSM II.

The K3 is much better than my K5 classic for this type of shot. The AA filterless design plus much better AF make it so much more enjoyable to use.

Very nice Rondec. Do you prefer the DA 15 over the DA*16-50 for landscape shots? Which is sharper?

Thanks.

It is hard to know exactly how to answer that. As far as sharpness goes, they are probably pretty equivalent at f8 where I usually shoot landscapes. The 16-50 is sharper at 4 to f5.6. The biggest negatives of the 16-50 are that it is prone to flare and has quite a bit more distortion. The 15 is obviously smaller, doesn't flare much at all, and has much less distortion. It has decent center sharpness at f4, but corners stay pretty weak on my copy till f8. It also has a lot of curvature of its field, meaning that if you focus with your center point, the borders of your image can be wildly out of focus.

All in all, it is a fun lens to use and I tend to take it out at the same time that I have a longer lens (like the DA 40 or DA *55) on my K-01.

Hope that helps.

Another car at a local annual car show (on the common). This one is a classic "rod." Long time since cars had tiltable windshields and manually operated wipers.

DA 20-40 Ltd - birds,bees & buttercups

Really wanted to go light today with no extra lens, the 20-40 seemed to be good choice. Hadn't had it out for a while, forgot how light and easy it is to carry. Other than wishing for more range a few times, glad I took it.
