I absolutely love this - I really enjoy Brenizer method shots that don't involve people; I think it's such an interesting effect and visual tool. Great stuff; I love it!

Was this handheld or tripod-ed?

One I shot at RIAT here in the UK last weekend - straight out of the camera with no image processing - just a slight crop. DA* 60-250. I only shoot for fun/memories.

Not sure what the correct term is for this type of needlework. In any case, it is special because the lady who made it is totally blind. K3 & 16-85. I could find no position to avoid all the reflections from the glass

Maybe a polarization filter... if you have it handy. I always have one in my bag though not for zoom lens.

Yes, a polarizer might have done the trick, but I've had mixed feelings about that filter on digital despite using one almost routinely when shooting chromes. Using PP, sometimes a polarized sky will go strange while trying to adjust ground colors. Also, inside in a museum an additional 2-EV exposure increase to compensate for the filter would have been very troublesome.

Very nice - and apparently one of the last flights of the Vulcan bomber. Speaking of memories, this plane featured in one of the early James Bond movies - Thunderball.
