The second picture was taken through a fence, just like the one you can see in the background.

I went out in the mid to late afternoon, about 1530 on a day when the sun sets at about 1640, so the light was getting dim. These were done with STak 24/3.5 and SMCTak 100/4 macro. The 100/4 is one of the lenses that I like a lot.

I have yet to mount my M 100/4 macro (dental version) on the K3, but I am surely looking forward to trying it out. Too many lenses, too little time ...

As I recall I got my 100/4 about the time the K3 was released, it arrived on Melbourne Cup day. It looked a bit worn in the eBay pictures, grey grip, but when it arrived it looked perfect. Some seller in Brisbane, I believe.

I like taking pictures of barbed wire. There are so many variations. I think I heard, years ago, of a museum with samples of 300 different types. This wire was interesting in that it was so clean, not all rusty, like most I have seen.

K-3 A-400
ƒ8, ISO 640, 1/60s

I finally got my blind set up today (with the help of a half roll of duct tape, it's getting on in years that blind), and discovered I don't have it properly aligned with the feeders. I took a few images anyway, just because I haven't been able to for so long.
My loyal chickadees. If I haver had powers and had a legion of minions, I'd pick chickadees. I can always depend on them to turn up for a test run or photoshoot.

For those interested in how I manage my K-3 files. All sharpening is turned off, noise reduction is applied, Denoise .75, Subject has brushed definition and sharpening but at less than .25 to avoid artifacts.. The histogram was bracketed using levels. Contrast is plus 15 ( if the subject weren't backlit it would be 5.)

With shots like those you con't need full frame - unless you want to publish him on a bill board to be viewed from a yard (metre) away.

I have neither the patience nor the file space to relate all that lies ahead now you have that boy. A very great deal of it is the best of all possible worlds. BTW: He is just beautiful. Enjoy every moment of the first six wonder years. They go so quickly, and they are jewels.

Having some fun with the Prince of Wales bridge in Ottawa. This is on my way to work, provides endless source of photographic inspiration.
