My go at a portrait. I don't have the talent to compete with Christopher, but I do think my model is pretty cool

True, and definitely not when it comes to these dark-maned Kalahari lions. But they can be frustratingly lazy sometimes. Well, most times. This guy woke us up with some impressive roaring at half past four, and we found him just a couple of hundred meters from camp. Not much light that early but at least it was nice and soft.

Lions can rarely be bothered to spare you a glance when you're in a car. But when they do it makes you want to wind up your window.
