Seriously?
It was cloudy, gloomy, and just before dark. I had the K-3 plus the Sigma 150-500 and a Kenko 1.5x TC set to 1/1000 @ f/8 so it was likely at f/11.

K-3 , F-70-210 with 1.4 TC for a maximum of 294 ƒ8, and Tamron 90 macro.

A comparison shot, taken with the 70-210 and 1.4 TC at 294mm

But, these guys were staying so close I decided to get the Tamrom 90 macro, which rates as great lens on every platform.

It's better to be close than far.

Cropped

Moving in even closer, I had to turn off sharpening. Any sharpening at all produced artifacts.

1:1 pixel peeping

A few more 70-210 with 1.4 TC

Thank you! It's funny how many people have been volunteering to assist me on these shoots. Even people who up till now had zero interest in photography.
I keep telling Otis you are just too busy to return his PM requests to assist you in your wonderful work. Not hard to see why he is taking a course on "Photographer Assistance"......

That young lady in the white dress is stunning, alluring, gorgeous and very nicely captured! Keep them coming!

Regards!

To everyone else, the birdie shots here are fabulous, the best around. But....I do bet you would trade subjects at least for a little while if you had LeRolls opportunities?

Giant pit near my place where a huge condo is going up over the next few years. Managed a few photos with a gorilla pod and one of the viewing windows.

My guess is Downey, because of the black striped tail feathers, and relatively short bill.

Thanks Norman, I kind of thought it was a Downy also; interesting about the tail feathers, I hadn't known about that before!
