Looks as though a graduated ND filter would help.
That's a stitched shot from about 4 photos. I think HDR-ing it plus a really nice boom tripod would be great. I was shooting that through a 10"x10" window in the security plywood around the site.

That looks like a bike-friendly crossing over the RR. You're fortunate with that.

I tend to always forget about this thread. So many threads. I recently aquired a DA*60-250 and the lens has lived up to its fame.

Fine work with the butterflies, but the bust is an eye-stopper, a face filled with strength and character.

Thank you WPRESTO, I have photograped that same bust with 16-50 but could not get the same amount of detail the 60-250 gets.

I put the Tamron 90 and 1.4 TC on the K-3 to make 128mm. It didn't convince me I need a 135 mm lens, and it was kind of shocking, this is what 200mm on a K-1 gets you, scary, but hey, it was fun for a day.

A leap of faith.

Using a lens like the Tamron lets you really crop aggressively. But that also opens the possibility, maybe you like it better uncropped.

But for what I do, cropped is good too.

Having a 1.4:1 macro is much different than the pseudo-macro of the 18-135 or 16-85.

I pulled out an old zoom lens today and decided to see how the old man worked on a K3, It is an old Vivitar 75-260 F4.5 zoom lens with a dedicated 42mm Pentax screw mount.. I did play with the contrast a bit but that was all I did on this photo. This was shot at f4.5. No idea of the exact focal length.
