Sigma 10-20 F4 5.6 shot at F9. I may have a slight de-centering issue on the left hand side. Although with this particular image I focused the building on the right hand side so it's not really fair.Wondering what the cost would be to have Sigma align it...I only paid $210 for the lens

You'd think at f9, things would be getting pretty sharp across the field for far away objects. Looks good enough to me though.

Some recent shots testing out my new Sigma 8-16 on the K3. So far it appears to a good copy.

I like how the out of focus light blue building compliments the blonde hair and blue striped shirt.
Thanks Guys.

Interior of a fish-processing hut at a fishing station in Iceland. Fish were salted, and fishing equipment stored here. A separate hut served as living quarters during the fishing season.

I had the pleasure of owning a K-3 for almost three months, before it was stolen last week on my trip to Ecuador.
Although it was an extremely short time and I didn't even get to use every feature, it was more than enough time to realize what beast of a camera it is.
Our relationship may have been short, but my love will last forever. All I can say is that Pentax (well... Ricoh) has gained a lifelong customer and I can't wait to get my hands on another K-3 or K-3 II if prices get lower.

I was devastated and decided to honor my little K-3 by sharing some of the photos I took with it in this little time (I'm just getting into photography and this was my first camera so they are nothing great, but I felt I needed to give it some sort of recognition)

Most of them if not all where taken with the 55-300mm WR and maybe one with the HD Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 Limited.

A shitting Austral Negrito

Old House

Plain-mantled Tit-Spinetail eating a larva

Gray-hooded Sierra-Finch, AKA "Bacon Eater" here in my country. (Love that name)

Southern Lapwing

Hope they weren't too many.

Cheers!

Hehe.

Well, there's clear proof that the FA 77 Ltd turns out lovlier shots, compared to the DA 70.

As for me, why is it that I never encounter those models on my trail hikes?

K-3 Stacked 1.4 and 1.7 TCs

ƒ8, 800 ISO, AV

Can I use stacked TCs on my DA*200 ƒ2.8?

While I realize the true test of a lens is distance, not close ups, the short answer is yes, it does, it's awesome. So, in good light, I present 476mm and ƒ8 with the 1.4 TC next to the body and the F 1.7 AF converter in the middle.

We have our first sparrows today.

It would appear the problems I've had stacking in the past were caused by not having an ƒ2.8 lens to start with. The other thing that comes to mind is, this package, going to 476mm and ƒ6.3 wide open, is a fraction the size of a Bigma. Not only that, starting at ƒ4 with my 60-250, this combo doesn't work well. My maximum reach with the 60-250 and 1.7 is 425. The maximum reach with the 300 is 510. Essentially it looks like I'm going to get all the performance of those two lenses well as the Bigma and various 500mm zooms. Compared to anything else, of equal range, this is a joy to carry, and these images are all taken hand held.

Now how much do I want that A*300 2.8 ?

Here are a few more images from 150 feet away, uncropped

What's everyone looking at?

Cropped to 2300x 1900 to show that I do have a redwing blackbird hanging out with the grackles.
