The Raynox are pretty much the best among numerous close-up filters I have, many of which are achromatic (Nikon, Canon, Minolta, etc).

That is a great photo, really amazing look on her face, lighting, pose.

Made a few interval composites today, here's one with a 55mm SMC m42 lens. Will probably post up a second with the 18-135 later on.

That water is as silky as one could ask for. I still haven't tried the interval composite, but you have inspired me, Bobbotron!

More photos of the hummers... the bugs are so bad, I can only stay out for so long, and almost missed my light, which led to lighting maybe 60º sidelight, which in turn led to some very good contrast in the feather detail. Most images were ruined because he turned his head the wrong way or was in complete shadow, but the ones that came out look good to me.

On the second one, there is actually feather detail in the wing. I guess 1/4000s is what you need to freeze a hummingbird.

DA*200 plus HD DA 1.4 TC
ƒ5.6, 1/4000s, ISOs 640, 1250, 1600 (TAV mode)

It never leaves my bag. In fact, Flickr tells me that 170 of the 918 photos I have published there used the DCR-250. Probably my single best photographic purchase.

The Raynox was also used for two of the following shots from last weekend. Pretty easy to guess which ones. Pleased as punch by the last one - a second or third instar grasshopper measuring maybe 7-8mm in body length. (X-posted to Show me your insects.)
