Nice shot. I like the eye detail and the way the bird's stance matches the curve of the branch. Also nearly 300mm telephoto at only ISO 100 ... gotta love that strong, clear Aussie sun

AAnd last one for the night with the macro-view. Got the movement right on this one to put a lily in focus. (f/11, 210mm 1s @ ISO400)

I photograph dogs for an animal rescue organization, which uses my photos on its website, Facebook etc to promote its dogs and cats. Volunteers bring some of the dogs (all in foster care) to Union Square in NYC every Saturday to show off the dogs and seek donations. The conditions for photography are challenging - crowds, busy backgrounds, harsh light, etc - but I do my best. Here are few photos from yesterday. Meet Copper, Spike and Alex (respectively). These were taken with the HD WR 55-300. Thanks to normhead's suggestion, I experimented with TaV mode, which I think worked well in this situation (fluctuating light) to help me keep my ISO relatively low and still get the speed and depth of field I wanted.

Thanks. Yeah, it's always a battle though, with the harshness of the light from that strong sun in the middle of the day. But I just can't help myself...if I have an available moment to shoot, I'll get out there no matter what time of day it is!

The first proper -and thus far only serious- shoot I have done with the K-3 was a 'fine art nude' so I wont post any NSFW pics in this thread.

They can be found on my zenfolio site here Wayne Pollard | 17 Nov 2013

This also contains folders with earlier shoots with the K-5 which is somewhat of a comparison.

Edit: my observation is the K-3 LOVES the FA43

Zenfolio is still very much a work in progress for me, so don't expect anything too fancy.
