Here are some shots I processed yesterday, all taken in Stavanger, Norway with the K3 and Tamron 17-50/2.8.

Shots with white subject, such as the boat and the house in the examples below, really show the difference in dynamic range between the K3 and my old K200D. It would have been much harder to get those shots to come out on the older camera.

A "dragon tree." The sap is red and folk tradition ascribes a variety of medicinal and magical properties to it.

Combine Demolition races in Maquoketa Iowa. Sometimes we get bored just "pickn" corn so we put together a good 'demolition derby' to pass the time. I'm sure Rondec does the same thing in Indiana.
(All shot with a DA*50-135. I brought the DA*200 but we got good front row seats so I didn't need it.)

Good perspective on the second shot. Nice soft, smooth bokeh as well.

K-3 and DA*200 ƒ2.8

Mostly ƒ8
Around 1/500s
Mostly ISO 125.

If you hang around the garden long enough (because you just got a new hip and you'e only supposed to walk 1000 steps a day,)

Sooner or later an insect will come and land right on the flower you're about to take a picture of. NO stalking, nothing, just stand there , pictures, like magic.

Then when they leave you can just go back to the flowers....

Urban Kingdom

I discovered this majestic hawk in our backyard perched on a neighbor's wooden fence. I photographed him from about 25' for quite some time and kept thinking to myself, why is he sitting here for so long? Those thoughts were soon answered after being signaled by my dog of fresh kill in the grass only several feet away from where he was perched. The first two shots were handheld and the last one was taken on a tripod during interval shooting. He turned his back to the camera for most of the 300 or so shots taken on the tripod. All three were cropped and edited. The second one was done so to give a luminous feeling. 18-135mm

Someday I hope I can get a similar sequence.

Nice shooting
