Of course, you are correct. It is called "exposing to the left" for better recovery.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply.
To be honest the first picture is closer to what the scenery really looked like to me, given the fact that the sun was setting and the light was dropping fast. Here is another shot of me, taking that picture, from a different angle by a K5 Pentaxian fellow

Advertising for Coke in Kenya, through a tour bus window on-the-go. I think the windows had a slight tint that put a little color cast on all the many pictures I took along the way.

DA 14 River Center Davenport Iowa. Waiting for Pentax to come out with a 20 to 24 2.8 lens I've got the FA 31 but it's a little too long inside for pics like these.

Interesting Mushroom Formation

Spotted this colony of mushrooms popped up in our back yard where an old pecan tree once grew. I thought the subtle colors of green looked very unusual.

trying out the K 3 at the Omaha Zoo yesterday The photographed animals are all in the Rain Forest Exhibit:

The first photo is with a Tamron AF 70-300mm F4-5.6 LD Macro Zoom and is of a mother gibbon and young shot through the TreeTop Restaurant window. She spent most of her time with her back to me.

the second is the same set up but I am outside shooting from a bridge without any obstruction

the third is with a HD PENTAX-DA 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR and you can barely make out the string enclosure I am shooting through

When I find some guy with another PENTAX camera on my property! But seeing he was my brother I allowed him to stay.
