Not the greatest of shots. This is our weathervane at the top of the carriage house (fancy term for a barn that kept a horse or two and a wagon). The weathervane is about 14 inches / 33cm tall. The N-E-W-S direction indicators are below the pointer. We had a lot of snow last night with little wind. Normally the wind keeps the snow low at the roof peak. As you can see, that didn't happen last night. The snow and the sky are almost exactly the same color and EV. Handheld using the DA L 55-300 at 300 and cropped.

First snowflake macro of winter, which has started with a bang over here: we got 15cm of snow yesterday, and -15C is the forecast high for this coming Thursday... At least the flakes make challenging (and pretty) macro subjects! :-)
