But it happens to me all the time too. Just yesterday that woodpecker I posted for some reason set my ISO to 2000, and my EV adjustment to plus 1 2/3s. These critters are really sneaky.

Cannot find my notes to identify this snake, but with that big pit on front of its eye, I would not try to pet it.

More light painting, you can get pretty specific lighting, good fun.

A big tufted silk spider. I'd have to back off pretty far to get sufficient DOF for this lady.

I like snakes but that looks too much like a pit viper and those I try to stay at least 15 miles away.

isn't that why we buy telephoto lenses???
