It was definitely a friendly, playful tussle. The one on the right appears to be relatively young (notice the short lower tusks, just visible).

A Sunday drive, 26 March 2017

We went for an afternoon drive in Alberta, just over the border from our home in Sparwood, British Columbia. Claire took her Pentax X-5 superzoom, and I took my K-3 with 12-24, 55-300 and 100 macro. I didn't use the macro at all, but did use the 55-300 and 12-24.

Claire taking her picture of Crowsnest Mountain.

My picture of Crowsnest Mountain. It was a lovely day!

Our drive took us to Castle Mountain Ski area, quite close to the US border as the crow flies. I snapped a skier or two. Heavily cropped from a shot with the 55-300.

This is a look back toward Castle Mountain area from near the barn we finally stopped at after saying we should for 30 years or so.

And some shots of the barn.

Construction detail, North west corner

Exterior view from the side nearest our pickup.

Interior from the middle doorway

And inside that doorway

We think this might have been the farmer's house. It's behind the barn.

Here is a link to an opening reception if you are local and can make, I will be there! Crystal City Fotowalk Artists Reception

Last day with the otter. I went through the ice , and had to change everything, went back and went in over my ankles, I think the ice conditions to get otter shots are probably done for this year. doh

K-3 and Tamron AF 300 and 1.7x
100 ISO, ƒ8, AV

Thanks for the comments. It was easily worth it. As a canoeist, I've dumped in freezing water a couple of times. This was nothing.

No swimming, no fighting hypothermia, all I had to do was stand up. This was nothing.

You're repeating yourself: "This was nothing," and then again: "This was nothing." Just keep saying it, over and over. Eventually someone will believe it.
