Well at least you were in the same peninsula. Five to six hours further driving to the northwest and you could have said hello. (they just raised the speed limit - although everyone drove that fast anyhow - so maybe a little shorter trip now)

Here are a few more recent shots from the Montreal Botanical Garden, reposted from Show me your insects. The first is a five-frame focus stack I'm especially happy with. D-FA 100mm WR, with Raynox DCR-250 for the first two shots. Off-camera, diffused Godox V850ii flash.

I know the area. I went to college at Michigan Tech. I really need to get back up that way soon.

I can actually work on those cars. One of the cool things is that you can actually see the engine when you open the hood! (Bonnet for our English friends.)

LOVE the eyes on the 1st two! I don't own any actual macro lenses yet, but on a whim 7 years ago I bought my Raynox DCR-250 to dabble in macro. I love it and although it would be nice to add a D-FA 100mm WR to my collection the DCR-250 is very satisfying.

That first one looks like it might have fisheye lenses in its eyes!

If cost is a factor, and when isn't it, consider whether you can live without WR and other features

look at the non WR versions of the 100 macro lenses

The optics are the same I believe
