Nice! I really like that peanut feeder, also; never seen one like that.

This one he pulled a translucent screen down in front of his band. It gave a glowy affect.

The male Black Headed Grosbeak (of the family hanging around, the immature male was the first to show a few days back when I posted not quite sure what he was) has made extremely brief appearances. I often hear him, seldom see him but he's making minutely longer visits to the feeder area now - enough for me to snap him a few times in the past 2 days

And the Goldfinches finally arrived (was beginning to wonder where the heck they were) and have been around often for the last couple days as well.
All I can see in this shot is 20s wiseguy accent and keep wishing he had a fedora to go along with his "seed-gar". Scram, ya meathead. 23 skidoo!

Both K-3 with DA*300.

Two male Rose Breasted Grosbeaks turned up at the feeder today. I had a breeding pair around last year, I wonder if one of these is last year's chick. I only got pictures of the one. The other was burrowed down in the feed trough like he was sitting on a nest.

A lesson in Hairy Woodpecker behaviour.

They actually get the nuts out of the peanut feeder with their tongues.

Blue Jays just go to the feeder rail and take the whole peanuts.

Meanwhile, King Squirrel didn't seem interested in eating. But he sat there and squeaked away offering a challenge to the other squirrels. Any who came into his "territory" he chased after until they left.

Seems a little greedy, especially since the birds just swoop in and take what they want. He doesn't seem to mind birds as much as other squirrels. He even came into the blind with me to see what was going on in there.

Driving back through Algonquin Park tonight, sometimes you have to stop.
This big guy was drinking salt water from a roadside ditch.

K-3 and DA*60-250

too ISO or 400 ISO, ƒ5.6 AV

This guys seems harmless enough, back to the task at hand.

What a lovely surprise! That's a great image. At the forum resolution I had to look three times to see them myself.
