Today's fitbit walk, I drove to the party, because I'm getting bored with the "usual".

K-1, DA*200 with 1.4 TC.
400 ISO, ƒ5.6, AV

Starting at the Logging Museum, a few Mergansers on the pond..

The prerequisite water lilly shot. There was teen-age girl with her parents, standing there with a Nikon not shooting anything but holding it very prominently. I went and took this water lilly and moved on. Looking back down the trail, there she was , shooting my water lilly from the exact same spot. This kind of thing amuses me to no end.

On the path.

Park Staff reinforcing viewing deck over an old logging chute in preparation for the crowds of the coming "Logging Day."

You can never have too many water lillies.

Over at the Beaver Pond. Originally I didn't see much to take images of, so I started taking images of the people across the lake.

Reading the trail guide, just in case someone wants to know what they are looking at.

Wow, no beaver, but a duck.

I don't know what he's taking a picture of, when I was there, I didn't see anything interesting.

From the lookout looking back at people crossing the pond on the boardwalk.

Here's a shot of old school country artist Marty Stuart. I wasn't able to use this camera for Chris Stapleton because I accidentally locked my SD card. I didn't have time to troubleshoot since I only had 2 songs to capture the show for 98.9 FM in Seattle. For Chris Stapleton, I used my 5D MKII since it wasn't locked.

DA* 50-135mm shot .jpg and edited on my iphone

Thanks,

The D-FA Macro 100 is a great lens although I have had some focus inconsistencies with it. When its on its spot on and it renders some great images. Truthfully the focusing problems may have been with the operator, I have since changed my technique and things have improved a bunch.

The quick answer is attaching the camera body to a telescope which act as the lens. A motorized tripod is required to follow the night sky so you can image the object over selected time period. In this case 3 hrs, which is the longest I've imaged one object. I usually try and get a minimum 1 hr but my technique is slowly getting better on setting up tracking and polar alignment ect ect.

Last night I restacked the same image data 6 times using more exposures each time to show the benefits of taking multiple images for astrophotography and stacking them. I'm not at home now so I can't resize it do I'll just link to it and not post the large image here and screw up the forums layout,

Really really nice work! I have a few dumb questions... how do you deal with the camera cpu, heat, battery drain, and sensor issues with such multiple long exposures one after another? And what about heat induced sensor noise? Is the last shot noisier than the first? Do you have to change multiple batteries in 3hrs ? Do you do anything else special to make this possible, or is it all good right out of the box?

One can take dark frames, bias frames, to help reduce noise. I didn't use them in the above example as I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Evenings right now are around +8C to +10C, and in the winters it'll be much colder in the negative range But I haven't notice too much from the K5IIs when I used to use it, the K3 has a little bit more and once the even gets dark enough to really matter, I'll definitely be taking the above mentioned bias/darks frames to help combat it, but honestly I find just more and more images really helps even it out, as I showed on my link http://stevenkovickart.com/astro/why_stack.jpg but I'm sure if I lived some place where it was +30C in the evening I'd have to battle the noise much more.
