When shooting raw, only the embedded jpeg will be affected by the NR settings. With raw, you get to make the decisions how you will apply noise reduction in post-processing.

The adobe DNG converter can convert from the camera dng to a dng that aperture can understand. Although aperture does not have k3 specific profiles yet, this workaround works pretty well for me. I posted some images earlier in the thread.

Nice model shots. Looks like NR softness to me. A bit of softness may actually be preferred with the K-3 to prevent the "skin pore" problem Turn off all NR reduction in the K-3 and try to process the raws again in camera to see if there is a difference. Ricoh seems to have gone for more aggressive default NR in the K-3 than in previous Pentax models.

Jack
Download Adobe DNG Converter , it's free from the Adobe website...it will convert your K-3 files to a dng format that the Mac will read.

A few from today and was wondering if the sky looks natural, I just got a new Ultrasharp monitor and the sky looks good but on my older monitor the sky is some kind of crazy electric blue.
Any info would be much appreciated.

My w530 has a a colour calibration sensor built in and the sky does look a little over saturated but I wouldn't say electric blue by any means. Hope that helps
