Why would you not use SR?

Kengoh, Nice work as usual. I follow your photos on flickr along with several others who post here.

I was curious what you think about the comparison between the K-3 and the K5IIs.. It looks like you are still using the K5IIs occasionally?

TIA

Because of all the early questioning on sharpness, I switched off SR (have it selectable with fx button) except in AF.C (user mode 3 for me).

Haven't really checked for issues using it ... but haven't had shake issues ... that was really my point. I've held the K3 with 60-250 at circa 1 / 125 and picture has been crisp. Probably a fluke ... but in general I've had lots of very slow exposures without shake issues.

Yes, I occassionally still use K5-IIs for the extended bracketing that K3 is missing.
I use that to shoot long exposure for post processing (manual blending and HDR).
K3 is great for all photography except long exposure for sunset/sunrise (my preference) but long exposure for blue hour/night shot I don't use extended bracketing hence I choose K3 over K5-IIs for the higher res. Basically both cam the image quality are about the same.
K3 is very good for birding and wildlife photography, the extra MP is a big advantage especially when the subject is small and far. The higher fps increase the keepable shots when shooting birds in flight or in action.
The new multi-zone auto white balance is excellent and very accurate. Below pic is shot with this multi-zone AWB:

Pretty sure the only issue with sharpness and SR is when on a tripod. And the 2 second time or mirror lock up negates that anyway.
