# 1 & 2 are great, the second shot I love the PP as much as the composition.

Great picture, enjoy your new boots! I own both the Meindl Perfekt hikers and hunters and consider them the best boots that I have ever owned. And I have owned a lot of boots over the years....

A few from this last week.
Juvi Bald Eagle with 5 others in the background. K-3 DA*300 f/4

Haha definitely pick one up. Mine is a Hoya Pro1 CP filter. Got it from Bhphotovideo with a bunch of other grads and stuff. They are excellent for making photos look more colourful!

CQ Is an awesome spot to live in!

From today's walk.... cross posted from post your photos...

If you don't have a 100 macro, put the 1.4 TC on your 70 macro... that gives you 98mm ƒ4.

Gotta have a stick, can't go on a walk without a stick..

Coireach a Ba at Rannoch Moor.

Coireach a Ba at Rannoch Moor. A five bracketed shot with the DA*16-50 and merged in Photomatix. It was very windy at the time and although shot on a tripod there was some mild camera shake. This seems to result is gentle HDR processing resulting in what looks like more aggressive tonemapping. Still I quite like the slightly painterly result. I am working on converting a survey grade tripod tribrach adaptor to fit 3/8ths tripod heads to allow more stable setups in windy condtions. Not ideal for moving to far off the beaten track, but I think it will help.

Beautiful shot. As for tripod stability, I have a rock blanket that hangs from the three legs of my Vanguard. I have had easily twenty pounds of rocks in it on a windy day ridge top. But your winds may differ.

I drilled a hole horizontally through the end of the tripod section that extends to the ground. I use a stiff bungie hung by the holes in a loop to hang whatever weight is needed to stabilize the tripod. Gorgeous shot!

And another. This time 5 bracketed exposures handheld at ISO 800. Passed through DxO Optics Pro with Prime Noise Reduction and a little sharpening then merged in Photomatix.
