The day starts shooting through the kitchen window , birds out in the maple trees apparently eating seeds.

And a woodpecker on a tree.

Then moving outside. It's minus 20 today, even in full outdoor gear, it was chilly.

The male Purple Finches went straight to the feeders, I couldn't get any pictures of them anywhere else.

The females were more co-operative…

We also had a group of Goldfinches there as well.

And even a rodent.

Typical December last light in the West Highlands, pretty flat light so all in all not a bad outcome. Sigma 35mm 1.4. 1/90sec f3.5 ISO100. Handheld and shadows pushed in LR. Camera profile Huelight K3 V35 'Standard' seems to have rendered the colours pretty much as they were.

Shot with Sigma 150-500 @400mm. ISO100, F8, 1/60

Went overboard with saturation and vibrance to emphasize the very subtle colours of the surface.

As for the moon, my moon looks like black and white in comparison to yours. However not as rusty

The moon on your image has lots of details! A good shot!

Nice shots guys !

I've been testing HDR technique with the K-3.
In the following pic I was using Handheld, 5 shots with in camera Multi exposure drive mode.
With Sigma 17-70mm /f2,8-4
I processed the HDR with Photomatix, I was looking for the "painting" to get along the Autumn colors that I really like.

The second image is a tribute

to Kengoh or Vincent who have posted some incredible images in this thread, I really like their pictures feeling.
I really love some other's work, especially with thoses birds...but I dont have any lens really capable for that type yet.

It's with the Sigma 17-70mm /f2,8-4, my "Cheap" DA 15 /f4

I was waiting for the perfect lighting to shoot, this one is from quiet early in the session, when city lights were alive.
I've got a bunch of nice pictures from this session, Ill post more later if you want.

I hope someday Ill have a Pentax DA 15/ f4 to test, I think it's my most wanted lens at the moment.
