A couple more from King's Lynn looking across the Ouse Estuary. Both at ISO 100 f8 the first with the 15mm Ltd and the second with the Sigma 35mm 1.4 (Art).

And another. 1/15th sec ISO 100, f5.6, handheld with the Sigma 35mm 1.4 (Art). Not quite crisp, but 1/15th handheld is pushing it a bit with my technique. I love the colour rendering of this lens when I get the exposure right, and the shapness corner to corner (not that this is good example of that)

K-3
DA* 60-250 + HD DA 1.4 TC

It was -14 today and a cold -14 so it was cold, but that keeps the birds busy eating enough to keep warm

The Starling... back again today... there was a blackish purple one with them we assume was a male...

A Downy Woodpecker, not a great shot, but today's shot, they all can't be show stoppers..

Mr. and Mrs Purple Finch...

A couple of active chickadee images...

The Star of the day was the nuthatch...

Tomorrow the feeding starts bright and early... be there or be square.

I agree ISO 100 is too low,,,Don't be scared of going up to at least ISO 1600 so you can stopdown the lens for a landscape shot like this and use a faster shutter speed so you dont get as mush shake (unless you use a tripod of course ).

Yes absolutely. What I failed to say in my original post was that I had just taken the camera off the tripod. It was turning chilly and my bladder was demanding I rush back to the hotel post haste. Contextually this shot was a miracle at 1/15th cross legged

Attended a friends art show at Easy Street Records in West Seattle. I love how vibrant her work is.

some Californian architecture taken this week:

and:

These were both taken with DA Limited lenses -- makes for a nice, small travel kit.

Considering that, i am surprised how sharp the shot really was!

at this size, the DA* 60-250mm doesn't appear to be affected too negatively with the HD 1.4x converter.
Can you share with us your camera setting for this series?
Generally, I recommend students take another f-stop (or two depending on the multiplier) when using a TC.

Just got my K-3 and started testing with it. The first 15 minutes or so I was mainly just fiddling with the body because it's all foreign to me. Went looking to find some good BIF but all I got were these little pooping machines.
