A couple of shots.

This one with the DA *16-50.

And this is some Mincemeat Pie, shot with the D FA 100mm macro WR

My wife made it for me. Something I don't understand, is why no one seems to like Mincemeat Pie. I love it, but I can't even get my kids to try it. Not sure why...

Because of sugar, I'm not eating almost any pie.... but I remember mincemeat from my youth. I always wondered why there was no meat in it. I can't remember ever saying no to it. Sugar is poison. And it would seem, the older you get, the more poisonous it is.

But there is meat in it. It is beef and beef suet and raisins (I think). My specialty isn't making pies, it is eating them.

Something about this line of commentary is reminiscent of the Why I won't buy a K-3 thread

Great shots, Vincent. Nice to see you shooting new things recently. And that is a male House Finch.

A few with the HD DA 20-40mm. Taken at/for work. I work as a river restoration designer and this is a newly constructed channel six months after construction and the water first running through the project. It was late evening and light was at a premium so once again I'm autobracketing and combining in Photomatix (and it shows).

You've not been to Australia/New Zealand... It's like a national dish here. You go to the footy and eat a meat pie. There are like whole sections in bakeries dedicated to different types.

My favorites are the crocodile and camel meat pies from Fredo Pies. In most of the regular meat pies you find in shops, the 'meat' part is only a euphemism.
