Swainsons Hawk

I believe it's a Swainsons Hawk, but I'm not bird specialist.

Giving the WR of the DA 20-40mm a bit of a workout. Late evening rain in Glen Coe 4 x handheld auto bracketed exposures. It was very wet at the time.

Not sure where they are nesting but over the past week I've been seeing them in or perched in a abandoned field on my way home from work. Only thing I would have liked more was if his wing tip wasn't cut off in the Pict but they move so fast that I was happy it was in the frame. I have many with only half the bird or its so high up even at 300mm its tiny.

Great photos everyone.
When I came home yesterday I saw this Robin Feeding its Fledgling so it made my day. A couple of quick snap shots but at least it was something.

Tried some Hummers today with 1/8th power and a darker background, I think it will work with a third flash. F13, SS-1/180th
