Very nice, Rondec! I'm curious... what height above the ground do you have the camera for those shots?

Thank you. About 20 inches. I was right on the edge of the fields in both photos.

Diamonds in the grass

Heavy dew last night left beads of diamonds in the ornamental grass. K-3 with converted Canon FL 55 mm f 1.2 at 1.2.
ADDED COMMENT: I like using this all-manual lens because it has to be manually stopped down, though most of the time the lens can be left stopped down even while focussing, meaning that you can use Av mode without fiddling around with the green button--so you just manually focus and shoot.

I love this photo(s). It's very creative to think of doing something like that, and it looks good and artistic.

Thanks mamethot and emalvick! It was fun being out there... a warm night, no mosquitoes, and a good companion to chat with while we watched the planes take off.

SFO doesn't have many vantage points where you can shoot planes. I've also tried Oakland airport and there aren't any spots allowing close viewing.

I know the feeling, you can only shoot what you've got. Everyone seems to think I have an ideal shooting location, but after a few years, you have to start looking for new angles, where ever you are. One guy said, "learn locally, then start travelling and apply your knowledge." Just at my age, travelling is tough, so it's just same old, same old for me. But for the younger folks, good photography should go hand in hand with famous shooting locations. If you can make the most of those rolling hills, you can make the most of anything.

Beautiful pictures, do you shoot with a tripod?
