Two handheld focus stacks of a remarkably calm damselfy, posing in the sun near the St-Lawrence river in Montreal.

If you click on his pictures it will lead you to his Flickr account where you have all relevant information's...

Quote: "Tamron Adaptall SP 90mm F/2.5 Macro (52BB), Tamron Adaptall SP 2X tele-converter (01F), Raynox DCR-250 and off-camera diffused Yongnuo YN-560 III flash. Very far from MFD - probably around 1:1, or maybe a touch above. This is the deepest handheld focus stack I've made so far at 8 shots!"

Thanks! As RAART said, I normally put all/most technical details on Flickr, including the EXIF which is from the first shot in the stack. The sideview is an 8-shot stack and the front view is "only" a 4-shot stack, and both are with an Adaptall combo, effectively a 1:1 180mm macro, plus a Raynox DCR-250 diopter. I shot at continuous low with the flash at about 1/8th, and moved the camera slowly forward, with my elbows firmly on the ground. BTW, I am fairly impressed with Zerene Stacker and hope to go for deeper stacks of jumping spiders soon...

I switched to Zerene a while back and much prefer it to Combine ZM or ZP. Much less prone to introducing strange artifacts. Have done stacks of up to about 30 with it.

New tripod and gimbal head came in today so I thought that the Moon would be a good test of my 150-450 together with my Tamron AF 1.4x teleconverter. These are cropped shots. The first with the 150-450 and auto focus. The second with the teleconverter added and using manual focus. I did not catch that the lens was set at 360mm for the firs shot.
