Normhead,

Sure, I'm just across the lake.
Ah, you're in Rochester. A place I've ever been but thought about. When I went to Ryerson Polytechnical in Photo Arts, it was still basically a technical institute, now it's a university. So if I wanted my BA in Photography, Rochester was the place to go. You could do your 3 years at Ryerson and get a couple years of credit.

Or, keep what you've got until you get what you want.

Nice shooting Norm, for right now I'm stuck with a Sigma 50-500 for the time being. I'd rather shoot with what I can afford than wait years for what I can not.

K3 plus Bigma f8 1/500 Iso 800 500mm

Bigma f8 1/400 Iso 200

Some HD 55-300 shots with the K3
Both are 230mm 1/180 f8.0 with AF540 using the Better Beamer, this was the first time I tried to use the Better Beamer

On the beach at sundown on the shore of Lake Michigan
300mm 1/200 f10 ISO 1000

Nice. A flash extender is probably the best improvement available for the money.

Taken with my new 16-85. Dare I say that it's pin-point sharp?

Ouch!!! Yeah, that's sharp!

I think this will be my first glass upgrade next year to go with my soon to be K3.

How would this lens work for astrophotography?

I was in Pittsburgh over the weekend and was very fortunate to get to see a foggy sunrise from the North Shore Riverwalk near PNC Park. This was taken with the DA 15 Ltd.

Wonderful moody AM shot. Not the kind you can get by deciding you want it.
