Not quite full moon, K-3 400 ISO, 1/500th sec, with 6 inch f/10 Meade SCT and Kenko KDS II geared head. SCT mirrors are not as contrasty, so had to play with boosting contrast and cutting saturation. Color is fairly accurate, giant dirt ball in the sky! Not as sharp as a refractor lens but nice interesting shades of dirt. The bright areas were really bright, maybe cut back on highlights too much in PP. Uncropped.

Looks great to me, you can even see the detail along the Terminator. I miss using my telescope. I have a 10 inch Newtonian reflector that has not been out in years.

That's not dirt. It's cheese. Ask Wallace (or Grommet).

Thank you! I'm very blessed to live in such a beautiful area, with wildlife around. Winters can be a challenge, but it is still beautiful.

Oh, what a hot-shot.
V-A-V cameras and what it takes to make/take a fine picture, several pieces of advice I've been given (but not necessarily followed): 1) "photography" means making a picture with light, the light is what counts the most; 2) fine to outstanding images have been taken with virtually any and every camera that's ever been made; 3) to put the equipment in its place you don't need to see stunning images taken with cheap, simple cameras; you need to see dreadful images taken with top cameras (done by just going into my own files).

It did it as a poke to a lady that came up to me in church on Sunday and said "I love your night shots you must have a really good camera". She meant no harm but I wanted to make the point in a way she would understand it so I posted that on my wall of facebook where I know she will see it.

Awww, that looks so much like the Cockatiel I had for 18 years, Sassy. A wonderful, entertaining bird that learned to talk without me trying to teach him.

Thanks! Yes very lucky with the weather, & consequently there were hordes of people at most sites. Very hard to get photos without selfie-shooters in the way
