It's an odd stretch of land, such a big swath in the city, fields and fields. I imagine it employs a great number of people, though they often seem empty. A guy I worked with had a summer job in school of shooing people off the fields at night!
I bet Ottawa has changed a lot since you were here, it's amazing how much it's grown on the periphery.

I took these tonight on a pedestrian bridge, trying to work with a gorilla pod in the cold, have to come back to recreate the second shot with a proper tripod! I quite like the first one, the texture of the highway lights with the chain link is pretty cool
