I've posted other images on other threads of this place. The yard out of sight to the right was stacked with, well, stuff.

LOL well I was just about to post some from the weekend feeling very good about them and LeRolls does it again! But this is actually a good spot because much of what I did in the shoot and even doing the shoot at all was inspired by him. I love his tasteful balanced approach fitting all the elements together and nailing the technical details spot on.

There are so many dumb shots out there like a model in a wedding dress in a swamp and he never does anything stupid like that. So I have really enjoyed LeRolls work and about half of my folder of work that inspires me is his stuff. And with that tip of the hat here is my first ever model shoot and first ever night shoot.

My gal is a bit older, has been through a really rough patch as of late and never done anything as crazy as posing for a shoot before. So my goal was just to make her relaxed and feel wonderful. I am delighted to report she had a blast and was totally blown away with the shots!

Now I just need to learn when my model has had enough!

The puppy photo is very cute, charchri4!

Here's a portrait taken of one of my cats, Greta. This is her typical expression when I'm around. She's not particularly friendly unless she has just eaten. At that time, she will allow some brief petting.

Taken with the Helios 44k-4 at f/2.

Thanks! I chose the 44k-4 58mm because it is K-mount, and I would not need an adapter. The nice thing about it is at larger apertures you get the nice creamy bokeh and when you stop it down a bit, you can sometimes get the crazy nervous swirly bokeh. It's a fun lens. I should use it more. It's not the easiest to use, though. The focusing ring is a bit stiff, but not too bad.

Well said. I really, really, really like shots 1 and 3 in your post. They are delightful.

Thanks. I got the same shot on medium format film but missed focus a bit.

Here a few more from San Francisco, same setup (K3 + Tammy 17-50). Forget about super-zooms, a fast-aperture standard zoom is the best travel lens.
