Many, maybe most of the good wildlife photos have long since been posted on other threads (ALPHABET RACE; WILDLIFE; I SPY). However, here's a hyena and white-bellied bustard.
Very nice, but it is real difficult to make a hyena look good! We saw lots of rhino in the crater, and the lake was filled with flamingos. I was not on a tour, but just rented a Land Rover in Arusha and driver and rode all around. Would love to return someday.

We spotted only a few white rhinos in the crater, and they were far off the roads. The lake was flooded far above normal levels, which cut down algal growth and therefore also the number of flamingos, although there were spots with a good many. Two really bad images below both taken with a Bigma @ 500mm. As close as we came to a rhino @ Ngorongoro, and a road sign with couple flamingos on the wrong side of it.

When I was there the lake was covered with flamingoes--almost looked like Parma, Ohio.* My driver was an experieced hand, a man with his own Land Rover that I picked up in Arusha, and he drove us within about 40 feet of the rhino!
Driver cautioned us to keep quiet, and I must say it was a little too close for comfort for me. One of those monsters can destroy a Land Rover, and in fact have done so in the past.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

Cross posted with 300 Lens Club.

Sunday drive to Police Outpost. Luck was with us, we had a 30 minute break in the clouds and rain. These four photos were taken with the K3, M400/5.6, and Manfrotto tripod. Exposure set with green button; lens was set to f/11 to reduce CA and PF, and it worked. None of these photos have noise reduction applied.

Red necked grebe. Front focused, but the best of a series of the grebe swimming in and about the reeds.

Fishing persons - no crop.

And a couple of the same red winged blackbird guarding his territory. The first one is cropped; the second is the full image.

Checking out my new to me DA 14. I was out with the dog shooting the brick wall test. So far I'm liking the color, contrast and sharpness of this lens. I need a sunny day now to see what it can really do.
