These were taken inside a huge cave behind a waterfall. The first is an HDR of three in-camera HDRs and abviously has far greater dynamic range, but I'm not sure I like it more than the single in-camera HDR (second pic).

The dynamic range of the scene was huge - fast moving (therefore frothy and white) water in bright sunlight and near darkness way back in the cave. The HDR shot is a more accurate of how the scene appeared to the eye.

Both taken with the DA 21mm & K3.

Personally, I prefer the first (3 shot) rendition as it appears on Pentax Forums. The second is perhaps more in line with what we would see in situ, but the first gives me a better impression of the whole scene.

Thanks! Yeah I've been trying some new looks as of late. The models seem to be enjoying it as well.

Lovely image, and the girl is cute too! How did you light this, I only see 1 highlight in her eyes, not on camera flash surely?

Thanks.

Well, it's a new week so I guess I was bound to get asked this question again. Here's a copy and paste answer: "I have a really basic and mobile lighting setup since I generally do not have an assistant with me. I use the AF 540 FGZ II flash from Pentax with a Gary Fong Lightsphere strapped to the front. I also have a Vello flash sync cord to keep the flash off and away from the camera. I hold the K-3 in one hand and the 540 in the other."

@LeRolls You are getting better technically... I meant in those last two pictures and they were some other ones back and forth.

The focus separation of the subject and the background is so pronounced, I'd almost believe she was photoshopped in there! I like this one quite a bit.
