Someday I hope I can get a similar sequence.

Nice shooting
As many wonderful bird shots I've seen from you I would've figured you'd have dozens of these sequences. Thanks for the comment. P. S. How's that hip? My wife is a PT. Are you hip deep in the "P"ain and "T"orture? Strengthen. Strengthen. Strengthen.

It doesn't matter how many times you're out, you still have to be right time right place.

Checking back into this thread! Good to see folks still making great use of the K-3, even with the K-1 hogging all the attention!

I have kept my K-3 as backup to the K-1 (and for telephoto use). Here are a few hummingbird shots I like. (DA*300) Last one with the HD DA 1.4x converter.... Shutter speed wasn't quite fast enough but I dig the funky scratching pose.

Young pineapples grown commercially in greenhouses on the Azores. It takes two years before the fruit are ready to harvest.

I recently picked up a used Rokinon 85mm 1.4 lens and a F1.7 AF Adapter from a Forum member. Today I tried them out together for the first time on my K3. Took a bit to get used to and overall not too bad.
Shot at F4.

K-3 with HD DA 1.4TC and DA*200 ƒ2.8
280mm, hand held
800 ISO, ƒ5.6, AV mode 1/200s to 1/1200s

For weeks there were no chickadees or nuthatches , then all the sudden six new little ones and two new nuthatches. Skinny and scruffy looking, but definitely making a go of it.

just getting around to editing these. i was in the AZ last week in July. a relative-n-law is a superintendent on an OdySea theme park job site. i got a behind a scenes tour one afternoon. it's a pretty massive project. he's used to building hospitals so this was a nice change of pace for him. apparently, the dolphin exhibit there is catching quite a bit of hubbub (deservingly so, IMO). structure being built on a native american community. all handheld. no flash. 18-135mm. post: CS5 & NIK.

Where do the chickadees and nuthatches go? One would think 49 degrees N latitude would be, well, north enough and woodsie welcoming. They had disappeared here as well and a small group appeared yesterday high in the branches of our Norway pines.
