Thank you. I appreciate your comment Raw onions are good for your blood circulation at least.
Also for warding off all manner of wild beasts, such as rampaging elephants. The girl next door was never trampled, not once.

Much better IQ than I get with my ridiculous 500mm paragon lens. :P
I'm guessing it costs a lot more though...

Ha, I bought the paragon for... $50? It is pretty not great though, I've never gotten a good photo out of it. Sure fun to use though.

I think in the days of Modern Photography they were commonly referred to as girl watcher specials. Most had about half the resolution of a half decent lens.

I like the big gold "Passed" sticker... I wonder what test it passed? LOL!

To be honest, I've wondered how bad those really were, and I assumed they had to be at least "not awful" or Bower/Paragon, etc wouldn't still be selling them today? At least better than a mirror lens?
Or maybe they just still have parts/stock from the 1980's... or... PT Barnum was right?

I have an ancient Lentar 500mm mirror lens that is actually pretty sharp... but it weights a ton and I seldom take it off the shelf because while sharp, it has other flaws... like low contrast, etc.

Red Hill -- this is the last home of Patrick Henry, just south of Brookneal, Virginia. It is a beautiful place. This shot with the DA *16-50.

I'll take some more photos with it at some point. I remember it being pretty hard to nail focus, and not great IQ. It's light for it's size, it's a long alu tube.

The biggest problem with it is how self conscious it makes you feel in a metropolitan area. It's huge! :P

Wasn't Patrick Henry the one who coined the phrase "Give me Pentax or give me death"?

So cheap. Are they any good. At that price you can afford to make pickled eggs.

One of several stairs and other rocky constructions in a municipal park that seems to have been constructed by woodland elves and trolls. Whimsical and must be magical for children.
