Nice second photo there. But it looks like you've spent a lot of time with post production?

It's common knowledge that the DA*50-135 is NOT a birding lens. Please make a note of it. Great shot

A few more car shots with the DA 14 from the Aledo Car Show...... Making sure the fat slob owners sitting behind their vehicles didn't get into the shots was next to impossible though

That '50 Chev brings back memories: my first 4 wheel motorized vehicle was a '52 Belair.

Shot this with Pentax K-3 and Sigma 17-70C. The photo is completely untouched but with the right angle and distance it looks like a tilt shift photo. Despite the fact that lens is not a tilt shift lens.

hey, thank you! i spent maybe 15 minutes editing. obviously, w/o a tilt shift, i needed to use the transform tool to get proper perspective. then i hit the curves and hue/saturation for tonal range/color adjustment, followed by a few adjustments in NIK to make it pop. geez, i can remember how much time i used to spend in a darkroom, which i loved! the trade off for todays editing tools moves from having headaches due to inhaling hours worth of developer, stop bath and fixer to dealing with carpal tunnel and screen blindness.

p.s. i was real close to buying that 14mm prime but it's not suitable for my current needs. you seem to be making great use of it, especially when it comes to capturing 'fat slobs'! thanks again.

Thanks for commenting. I see woody every day, but it's not every day I can get an image of him.

Hey Norm - miss seeing you over in the 18-135 section. I understand why and I'm glad to see you are still posting. You have consistently good skills with bokeh photographing your garden friends.

The 18-135 is still my walking around lens. But at this point in my rehab, about a half kilometre is about all I can walk. I'm just not doing much walking about. For these waxwings, Tess saw them on her morning run. I drove to a parking lot and walked 50 meters to the tree/bush, across a park lawn. Not much walking involved. I did have the 18-135 in my bag,

I understand 3-6 months formal rehab is common and based on my spouse's knee replacements, it takes about a year before the new parts really feel like they are 'yours'. Locally we have a retired doctor who used walking his huge brute of a Labrador Retriever as his motivation to keep up his self-administered physical therapy following his hip replacement. That was several years ago and he has no problem keeping up with the dog these days.

I love the K-3 & 18-135 combo. The other lens I find myself reaching for these days is my Sigma 10-20. The 55-300 sits most of the time. I can generally crop a 135 if the image is a one-off, but of course it is a tad more difficult at times to step backward far enough to fit things in at 18.
