I've owned a K-3ii for less than two hours. First act: take it out in the rain! Here's shutter click #17.

FA31, manual exposure and focus, live view with peaking; F/2.5, 1/30 sec, ISO100. Shot in RAW+JPG, and this is from the JPG.

That first flower picture is quite vivid. Great color. Do you find using the Pentax HD 1.4 and DA*200 combo misses focus at all? I've got the cheaper Tamron 1.4 X Pz-AF MC4 TC and find it misses focus sometimes. Maybe I should graduate to the HD Pentax TC.

Music festival shots

I've been under the weather for quite a while but I finally got out and shot some things for a friend who was doing production at a Japanese festival featuring several Japanese performers and a couple of reggae bands. These are all with the FA Macro 100mm F2.8 WR, which is not a versatile lens but is so much faster than the 18-135 WR that I usually use at concerts, and we were outdoors so I could zoom in and out with my legs.

Taken with the 18-135 WR on a hot sunny day. Much respect for the Native Americans in full dress.

I'm surprised at how clear and sharp your lens is. My copy sucked so I ended up selling it. It was no better and sometimes worse than my kit lens. If I had gotten a better copy I might have kept it.

Take a look here and enjoy:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/10-pentax-slr-lens-discussion/179869-da-1...-new-post.html

The DA 18-135 is my primary lens beginning with my K-30 and now with my K-3 - the lens got nothing but better with the K-3 sensor. The lens is not perfect. Center sharpness is better than corner sharpness. Generally speaking, I get best results in the f/6.7 - f/11 range - pretty typical for any lens with slight corner softening. And I ALWAYS use the hood unless forced to use the built-in flash to illuminate the subject.

Sure I use often use other lenses, but when travelling with unknown photo opportunities and have to prioritize based on weight/space, I prioritize as follows: DA 18-135, Sigma 10-20 (I can always crop, but can't necessarily move my feet back far enough), DL 55-300, and from there, if I still have room I start to guess what other silica based rocks go into my bag.

This photo is nothing great - just a snapshot of a (sometimes) friendly evening card game at a cabin. Prior to reduction for this site, each arm hair is sharply defined.

Mine is my kit lens and the most used on my camera being the most versatile and dependable. I find the only limiting factor other than myself when shooting with it is light like most lenses, but even in so so light I'm happy with my shots most the time.

Looks like a game of simultaneous solitaire. You can get your fingers smacked.
