Reposting this nine-shot handheld focus stack (from the Thematic Spiders and Flickr Explored threads) because, well, because I think it's a pretty kickass shot, that's why. D-FA 100mm WR plus HD DA 1.4x and Raynox DCR-250. This combo gives a range of 1.1:1 (21.5mm-wide frame) at infinity focus to about 2.8:1 (8.5mm-wide frame) at MFD. Here somewhere in between, but cropped to 4:3 aspect ratio, so I'd guesstimate the frame below is about 10-12mm wide.

Mother and one of three fledglings

Couldn't find the mother owl in her usual place in the tree so I started looking around for her. I finally spotted her higher in the tree. I had a hard time making out any details so I took a photo and blew it up. I was surprised to find another fledgling was with her. Here is the picture.

A walk downtown tonight with the K3 and DA*55. I was impressed with this lens on the K3. It seems to need no AF adjustment. The focus does tend to hunt a bit at times but that is typical with all DA* lenses. You either learn to live with it or sell them.

Thanks. Yes, I agree. I didn't even think about that at the time. And I didn't have my pano head with me!
