Today was the last day of my vacation and here at least it was absolutely gorgeous. I decided I felt good enough to take the Bigma out for a shoot since it has been about a year since I done any real wildlife. So I went to my favorite spot about 30 miles away. Of course I left my gimbal head at home .
Doesn't look like you missed much! Nice series.

Thank you, my biggest hurdle is regaining my breath everytime I hike a ways done the trail. Luckily I was smart enough to bring my tripod.

I understand. Every time I complain about something to my doctor he says "It's the A** word". Once upon a time I could climb a 2,000 foot rise in one go ...

Must break out my old heavy tripod. It could double as a walking stick, triple as a crutch, maybe in a pinch two of its legs with a shirt pulled tight between would make a stretcher.

The main reason I use my monopod is to aid on walking. Of course it also helps to not hold the camera all day long. I finally purchased a carbon fiber tripod. It really has made a difference.

It looks very familiar. I used to have one of those with the same lens!

Just looking through some old photos. This from May 2015. Apple tree in bloom and a few shots from a local historical museum.

I don't think I would want to pet your pet, but the attempt was otherwise successful

Hummers from today

Here are a few shots I got today of Hummingbirds in my back yard. Challenging to say the least but I did get some good ones.
