Thank you. It was shot from Melrose Ave that runs right beside I-5 around Harrison St. Yes construction everywhere. You can't point anywhere in the city without having a crane in the frame
We left Seattle back in November... I'd been there since 1993. Finally had enough.

My brother visited me from Hawai'i when I was working in Chicago. He said Chicago's national bird was the construction crane.

I keep seeing this image...and I can't get over how amazingly sharp it is. Just wonderful.

Thank you, I've been working on that actually. I don't use the DA 12-24mm very much and when I do I love the results.

Here's another one with the same lens on a different camera

K 3 + SMC Pentax-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM

I love the Drake Wood Duck in his breeding plumage

( btw, this photo was taken after my K 3 and DA 300mm hit the side walk, so it looks like no real damage was suffered to either )

That's a beautifully sharp image. Maybe the equipment benefits from a little roughing-up to make it pay attention to what it's supposed to do . Sort of the way M nudges me when I'm driving and I decide to doze off along a boring road.

thank you but I think I would rather doze - the shock wasn't particularly enjoyable

This one rocks. The bridge shot is great but I really, really like the train tracks.

K-3 and Tamron 28-75 f/2.8

Took a walk down to Waikiki last night and a good time was had by all, most notably by the group in the first shot.

Kids these days.

Thank you, I had to really crop that one as I made it too wide.

Couple more from Waikiki

First one is with a fixed-aperture Tokina 500mm f/8 manual focus mirror lens, so you never have to worry about finding just the right aperture. It's handheld so not as sharp as it could be; the lens isn't especially heavy but it's just too long for handheld, at least for me. Second is a shot down the Waikiki shoreline taken on the tripod at a height of about two feet on the waterline, with a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 macro. I'm pretty happy with the performance of the mirror lens under the circumstances.
