From the Blood Bowl above to the Gold Bowl here, still K-3 and DA 10-17 Fisheye with Metz 58 AF-2

Decided not to take K-1 along for the trip up the coast for this event, mainly because I was not willing to deal with the bulk and weight of K-1, also for shooting events K-1 RAW files can add up really quickly. K-3 was more nimble, also it has a higher fps than K-1, enabling me to spray and pray later with my DA* 50-135 f2.8

Wynyard Station, one of Sydney's busiest stations, has been refurbished. The very old wooden escalators were replaced with new ones but the old escalators were not sent to landfill but were repurposed as an art installation and attached to the ceiling.
The effect is quite stunning.

First shot is awesome. A slow shutter speed to blur the people in the second would have been awesome.

Thank you. In the second shot I was just concentrating on getting a different composition and avoiding light flare.

Just haven't been shooting lately... Here's a portrait of "our" stray cat - probably more accurate to say she adopted us (story in link). Shot last fall, but just posted today. DA 35mm Limited.

Beautiful shot. For selfish reasons I'm sorry you haven't been out and about with the camera; I always love your work.

First one is with a fixed-aperture Tokina 500mm f/8 manual focus mirror lens, so you never have to worry about finding just the right aperture. It's handheld so not as sharp as it could be; the lens isn't especially heavy but it's just too long for handheld, at least for me. Second is a shot down the Waikiki shoreline taken on the tripod at a height of about two feet on the waterline, with a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 macro. I'm pretty happy with the performance of the mirror lens under the circumstances.

Well done Weldon.

Nicely done. I don't think I've ever seen a bass player with that many effects boxes. Was he playing lead as well?
